Welcome to Graduate Centre for Applied Psychology

Welcome to Graduate Centre for Applied Psychology website, part of Athabasca University's Faculty of Health Disciplines. We are currently offering three programs:

Master of Counselling (MC) 36 Credits Counselling Psychology
Art Therapy
School Counselling
Post-Baccalaureate Diploma in Counselling (PBDC) 18 Credits None
Post-Masters Certificate in Counselling (PMCC) 12 Credits None

Our MC and PBDC programs provide our students with a purposefully designed sequence of courses based on the specific competencies required by professional counsellors. We offer mentoring opportunities in which students can work with faculty as teaching assistants, research assistants, co-presenters at professional and academic conferences, and co-authors of scholarly publications. We view graduate counsellor education as a process of personal, professional, and academic development.
